The major problem for web sites like this is updated business profiles. If site holds obsolete or incomplete information then sooner or later it will decline. If businesses do not provide necessary info at your site directly then you depend on a middleman.
2. This is should be a big investment for you. If you're going to develop web site yourself, then calculate as 1 person x 8 hrs/day x 1 year (at least).
3. If SOA will evolve with the same pace as we see today, this technology will compete with your service tomorrow (or may be you're ready to use it?).

Also some rhetorical questions:
> Have you done your marketing research? Is there any demand in a service like this? In Canada?
> Do you know your competitors? How they work on the national/international scales?

Now much info though - I'm not sure you're still following this idea.

good luck.

Ontario free B2B portal - suppliers, partners, search by product and services .....

Hi,

I have an idea to open new business to business portal for Ontario (or may be Canada). Is it interesting for somebody? My idea is that web site will contains business profiles + products/services that they provide. So if you are looking for supplier of a specific product or service you can find him on web site and send him business offer or request. I am going to create that web site with free access and synchronize it with Canadian Business Directory.

Just let me know what do you think about it?
